Croghan, George
( 1720, cerca de Dublín, Irlanda–31 ago. 1782, Passyunk, cerca de Filadelfia, Pa., EE.UU.).

Negociante norteamericano y agente indio. Inmigró desde Irlanda en 1741 y se asentó cerca de Carlisle, Pa., donde aprendió las costumbres y lenguas de los indios en provecho de su comercio. Durante la década de 1740 fue nombrado agente indígena (representante oficial ante las tribus indígenas) por Pensilvania. Luego, como delegado ante William Johnson (1756–72), negoció con las tribus que se quejaban de la invasión de sus tierras por los colonos. En 1765 logró poner fin a la guerra de Pontiac. Defendió la causa patriota en la guerra de independencia de los Estados Unidos de América.
